Kraftwerk in Tilburg

How Kraftwerk’s gig in Tilburg was? Well, bloody amazing it was of course! I was a bit worried they were playing the short festival setlist because Vitamin and Tour De France were switched, but i was very happy that wasn’t the case.
It took a while before the crowd was warmed up though, but they got a nice crowd reaction later on. Big cheers all over and a few smiles on the band members faces.
No real surprises, although it seemed Ralf hit a few wrong keys in the last part of Neon Lights. He improvised a very nice new melody part out of it though (or perhaps it’s just a standard change from the main melody, but it was new to my ears). Ralf’s goodbye was in Dutch, after which he almost tripped over a few wires when he left the stage. Yikes!

This gig was quite special to me because i could finally see a band with Jacqueline again after quite a while. She’s had all kinds of troubles with her health over the years, so she was a bit nervous of all the little things that could maybe go wrong, which thankfully they didn’t. It was good to see her enjoy the concert so much, it meant a lot to us.

Btw, Coldplay’s drummer was wearing a Kraftwerk Radio Activity t-shirt at Live8 earlier today. And it was also the start of the Tour De France. But i digress…
